Dyne is excited to be featured in the February 2022 Fire Protection Contractor (FPC) Magazine issue Trends in Construction.

The article Trends in the Fire Sprinkler Industry: Foam Systems is found on page 18.

Article excerpt:

Because of the environmental concerns with firefighting foams containing per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), industry changes are occurring with the design, installation and maintenance of foam sprinkler systems. Foams such as aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), fluoroprotein foam and film-forming fluoroprotein foam (FFFP) all contain PFAS. PFAS is added to foam concentrate formulations to improve performance by lowering the surface tension of foam solutions and in some cases enabling an aqueous film to form on the surface of a flammable liquid. The film is beneficial to extinguishment and preventing reignition.
