Joan Leedy founder and Technical Director at Dyne Fire Protection Labs has just returned from presenting to the fire safety professionals at NASA in Houston, TX. Joan was approached to speak to them as she is the current chairperson of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard for Low-, Medium-, and High-Expansion Foam Committee. In her presentation summarized the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance recommendations for foam systems and the environmental and toxicity issues of foam.
Joan has worked in the fire protection industry for over 30 years with experience in formulations, testing, approvals and design. Before starting Dyne in 1999, Joan was a Chemical Engineer at 3M, working in their firefighting foam manufacturing and test lab. Joan's current focus at Dyne is quality and new product development.
