Dyne Fire Protection Labs Expands Laboratory Testing Services to include Corrosion & MIC, Diesel Fuel, and Water Mist Nozzles

June 22, 2026 - Dyne Fire Protection Labs, an  NFPA Global Solutions Company, announced the expansion of its laboratory testing services to include  Corrosion & Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC), Diesel Fuel, and  Water Mist Nozzle testing, with results available in five business days or less. These additional capabilities strengthen Dyne’s role in supporting compliance with widely adopted NFPA standards and addressing emerging system risks identified through inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) activities. The expanded services specifically align with provisions within NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water‑Based Fire Protection Systems.

Corrosion & MIC testing supports conditions outlined in NFPA 25 related to internal piping assessment. “When tubercles or slime are observed during inspections, samples are to be tested for indications of microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC)”. NOTE: Our service also supports NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, requirements for the evaluation of water supplies and environmental conditions that may contribute to corrosion or microbial activity.

Diesel Fuel testing aligns with NFPA 25 requirements for assessing fuel quality in diesel‑driven fire pumps. Laboratory analysis identifies fuel degradation that impacts system reliability, supporting data‑driven decisions. NOTE: Our service also supports NFPA 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, requirements for the evaluation of fuel quality in emergency generators.

Water Mist Nozzle testing supports functional testing requirements within NFPA 25 for automatic water mist systems. These systems rely on precise nozzle performance, and laboratory evaluation provides critical verification beyond visual inspections.
